This past Sunday’s Star Club was Margaret Gray’s talk on relational astrology using charts with vague or no birth times. A must watch for anyone who provides synastry readings, or wants to delve into a certain relationship on a cosmic level!
In the talk, Margaret brings up how online interactions (for dating or socializing) has changed the game for how we meet and document our milestones with friends and significant others. This made me wonder: Is there a planet/sign signature that will act as an indicator for how someone is perceived online versus in person? Could a different angle, cusp or point outweigh the Ascendant for future astrologers when it comes to virtual first impressions? If you have an online business or are active in an online community, do you find you present yourself differently than you would in person? What, if anything, do you think changes?

How does an astrologer distinguish between someone with a Pisces AC and a 1-house Aries North Node position or an Aries AC and a North Node position? International cooperation is good because independent perspectives can develop in different cultural and social norm systems. It is not by chance that I asked the issue of the twin experiment as a question on Sunday's webinar. And it is not by chance that I am asking this issue from another perspective, with this technique.

I try to be constantly present at thematic meetings, but language barriers make professional communication significantly more difficult for me. To overcome this, I have prepared a critical summary of the methodology of the direction. I do not have information about what empirical measurement protocols are available at the international level, but the application of the direction relationship pairs itself raises the problem of measurability, reproducibility and falsifiability.
In my opinion, these methodological criteria are not optional, but essential for the education of astrology not to remain a purely philosophical or symbolic system, but to approach the requirements expected in scientific frameworks. The scientifically based approach requires that any applied technique meets the requirements of measurability, verifiability and an objective system of criteria.
Without emphasizing these aspects, astrological methods cannot be integrated into scientific discourse and cannot transcend traditional, speculative frameworks.
Methodological Critique of Astrological Direction Systems…

I personally will always turn to Profections as my go to no-birth-time-timing-technique. What about you?
I use astronomical mathematical (geometric) calculations. In which the sidereal time can be determined by examining the dynamic bipartite graph and serial chain in the interspheric approach of fixed star-planet pairs. Taking into account precession. I refine the 30-minute forward and backward time range with the R-matrix behavioral pattern sets of the Dynamic Personality Model. This will provide enough information about when the birth time can be estimated, independent of the astrologer, independent of subjective distortions.

I was a little disappointed, and I remain a little disappointed. Please forgive my candor. I know a tremendous amount of work has gone into this—work that many others wouldn't have been able to pull off. That is why I struggle with whether to even bring this up. However, I concluded that if I don't speak up, the system cannot change. Astrology cannot function in this form. Just look at how many of us there are internationally. Astrology fails to connect with related disciplines, even though it has so many—astronomy, mathematics, biology, psychology. Every other science shuns astrology. Why? Because it refuses to move with the times. I had previously raised the point that refining the Ascendant using these methods introduces subjective bias. Listening to the presentations only reinforced that view. At the same time, however, I realized that two speakers managed to navigate that subjective bias so clearly that the final result remained relatively objective. Today, with mathematical and astronomical knowledge, the Ascendant can be pinpointed precisely; life events are not required. How much longer will the astrological profession remain arrogant enough to believe it can cling to its blindness? How long will it isolate itself from related disciplines just to force its own self-validating processes? So, for these reasons, I am disappointed. I do not wish to follow this path.
