I was a little disappointed, and I remain a little disappointed. Please forgive my candor. I know a tremendous amount of work has gone into this—work that many others wouldn't have been able to pull off. That is why I struggle with whether to even bring this up. However, I concluded that if I don't speak up, the system cannot change. Astrology cannot function in this form. Just look at how many of us there are internationally. Astrology fails to connect with related disciplines, even though it has so many—astronomy, mathematics, biology, psychology. Every other science shuns astrology. Why? Because it refuses to move with the times. I had previously raised the point that refining the Ascendant using these methods introduces subjective bias. Listening to the presentations only reinforced that view. At the same time, however, I realized that two speakers managed to navigate that subjective bias so clearly that the final result remained relatively objective. Today, with mathematical and astronomical knowledge, the Ascendant can be pinpointed precisely; life events are not required. How much longer will the astrological profession remain arrogant enough to believe it can cling to its blindness? How long will it isolate itself from related disciplines just to force its own self-validating processes? So, for these reasons, I am disappointed. I do not wish to follow this path.
