Lecture Description
In this talk, Isaac will explore some of the various traditions of astrological gardening, from the Appalachian method of planting by the tropical moon sign and phase, the Biodynamic system developed by Maria Thun, to the more complicated astrological electional criteria in Thomas Hill's 'The Gardener's Labyrinth' and Vivian Robson's 'Electional Astrology', to the system outlined in 'Kālaprakaśika', a classic guide of Vedic muhūrta (electional astrology), and the beautiful Indian tradition of nakṣatra groves. He will also explain how he personally works with astrology in his gardening to choose the best times to plant seeds, transplant seedlings, graft, work the ground, root cuttings, and harvest.
