It with great enthusiasm that I inform you that Kelley Hunter and Pat Taglilatelo have accepted invitations to join the 2005-2007 ISAR board.
As current board members found out at yesterday's first meeting, Richard Smoot decided to retain his position as ISAR's new Operations Manager, our only paid position, and therefore chose not to accept his recently voted position to the board as a director. But do not worry Richard will be working plenty hard for ISAR as its new Operations Manager.
And then late yesterday (Tuesday) Mark McDonough informed us that he too will have to step down due to increased demands of his own private business interests (he is opening a third restaurant, in addition to his work with AstroDatabank plus his non-profit organizations he is involved with).
The remaining ISAR board members then considered several names to replace these vacancies. Dr. Kelley Hunter was chosen, first because of her excellent reputation as an astrologer, but also because she has proposed a new smaller international seminars format that ISAR is interested in developing for the future. Pat Taglilatelo was also chosen, first because of her excellent reputation as an astrologer and a diligent worker, but also because she has worked so closely with Lois Rodden and Mark McDonough. Several of the present board members have worked with her before, and are familiar with her exceptional work ethic and passion for astrology.
So please join me in welcoming Kelley and Pat to our 2005-2007 ISAR board! They will be joining Maureen Ambrose, Monica Dimino, Dennis Harness, Darri Low-Murphy, Chris McRae, Dorothy Oja, and Ray Merriman as directors, along with Operations Manager Richard Smoot, and Treasurer Gayle Herskovitz-Zola. It looks another another great board of directors!
Mark, we are going to miss you! Thank you for all that you have done for ISAR - and still will, by being connected to our research programs. And for those who don't know, Pat has been working with Mark at AstroDataBank, doing many of the duties that Lois Rodden had been performing previously. It is great to keep this tradition of "astrological datakeepers" connected with ISAR after all these years (since at least 1979).
