Learning & Teaching Astrology in the 21st Century
On Wednesday, May 23 2012 at UAC in New Orleans, ISAR will present an all-day workshop titled Education, Evolved: Learning & Teaching Astrology in the 21st Century. The focus of the workshop will be to inform aspiring astrologers about the kinds of educational programs that are currently available; help independent students develop their own self-study plan; provide teachers with information that will support their goals and aspirations; and suggest guidelines for how to start and run a school of astrology. The latter will include discussions on different types of schools, issues of curriculum, and opportunities for interfacing with traditional academia.

ISAR Ethics Awareness Training
On Thursday May 24, 2012 from 2:30PM to 5:00PM ISAR will present the ISAR Ethics Awareness Training, chaired by Dorothy Oja. This is a rare opportunity to participate in a live presentation of the training. You’ll have an opportunity to ask questions about the finer points of ethical practice and hear examples from real client experiences shared by the presenters. This training meets one of the three requirements for ISAR Certification and is followed by a one-hour exam from 5:00PM to 6:00PM.

ISAR Consulting Skills Training
ISAR will have a Consulting Skills Training at UAC 2012 from Sunday night May 20 through Tuesday May 22. This 18-20 hour intensive is designed to give astrologers basic listening and empathy skills that facilitate the astrologer-client relationship. Integrated with astrology, the communication skills taught in this program facilitate trust in the astrologer-client relationship and help to impart astrological information with understanding and compassion for the client’s subjective experience. Anyone who plans to do astrological consultations can benefit from this training. The ISAR Consulting Skills Training is required in order to become an ISAR Certified Astrologer.
